COURTESY POST Howdy, my name is Murphy and I am a five year old German Shepherd.  I had a rough start in life, but I know I will have the good life from here on out.  Now that I know that - I am one of the happiest go lucky dogs you will ever meet!  I like all people and all dogs.  The more friends, the better!  I haven't been around cats yet since I've been with my foster mom but I can meet one to see how I am before adoption if needed!  

Careful when you look into my eyes, I can't guarantee you won't immediately fall in love with me.  I'm not sure what magic I possess but so far everyone that has looked at me tells me they just love me.  I can't help it!  I would love nothing more than to find my own human or humans that I could supervise and care for at all times.  I will make sure you are always safe and protected.  Cooking in the kitchen, I will keep you company.  Want some privacy in the bathroom?  Maybe I'll allow it, but I'd really rather be with you to make sure you're safe.  I would love my humans so much.

I am a larger dog, but I am still slightly underweight.  I have a few pounds to gain before I will be at my best figure but once I gain, look out!  I will be ready for a modeling career; I just know it!  I was also told my hips aren't the best.  It doesn't really bother me as I'm more of a laid-back guy anyways.  A home without stairs would be a plus.  Also, a human that has experience with larger dogs would be nice since I might need to be lifted into a car or help with other large dog tasks.  

Also, if you haven't owned a german shepherd before, you must know several things.  1. We are very loyal.  2. We take our job of loving our humans very seriously.  3. We shed...like, a lot.  But I really don't mind if you need to run the Roomba daily.  They are quite entertaining to me!  And I would love nothing more than to be brushed by you!  

I am heartworm positive, but I will be treated.  I won't have issues since I'm such a calm guy.  Treatment will be a piece of cake!

I am also crate trained, well mannered, and house broke!!  There are some perks to adopting an adult dog!  I will reward you with everything I've learned through the years!

I would love a human that wants to live a laid-back life with me.  Maybe we could hang out on the porch and watch the sunsets?  Maybe a few movie nights with the family?  I'm very excited for all the memories we will make!  Please consider me to be your family's next best friend!
